Xbox 360 Slim Officially Announced

Xbox 360 Slim Officially AnnouncedAt today’s E3 2010 press briefing, Microsoft announced the long rumored Xbox 360 Slim and it looks awesome.

A slim version of the Xbox 360 has been rumored for awhile and long been asked for by fans. It was originally leaked by the Italian site Console Tribe the night before, but today Microsoft officially announced the new slimmed down version of the console and it looks awesome. It was unveiled at their E3 2010 press briefing today and it’s shipping out tomorrow from Amazon.

The first thing to notice about the new slim Xbox 360 is the glossy black color. It packs a 250GB hard-drive, built-in 2.4GHz 802.11n WiFi, 5 USB ports, and a new custom Kinect port that will attach to the newly re-named Project Natal add-on. It is supposed to be “whisper quiet” and will feature touch sensitive controls. It will unfortunately not be compatible with current hard drives or memory units so you will have to purchase a USB to Xbox hard drive connector cable for $20.

The new Xbox 360 Slim is available tomorrow in the US for $299.99 and will hit Europe on July 16th.
