Blizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures has announced that Sam Raimi will be directing the upcoming World of Warcraft movie.
Ain’t It Cool News originally posted the news that Raimi will be directing the upcoming World of Warcraft film and then Blizzard confirmed the news with a press release. From the press release Sam Raimi says about doing the film “At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story, I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen.”
For the two of you who don’t know who Raimi is, he is the director of the hugely popular Spider-Man trilogy. He is also the mastermind behind the Evil Dead series of cult movies.
I for one am very excited about this news and I have high hopes for this film now. I can’t wait to see if it makes it into that very elite club of video game movies that are actually good.
