Amidst several rumored leaked ads, Nintendo has finally come out and officially announced a Wii price drop.

Several leaked ads showing a rumored Wii price drop were floating around and Nintendo has come out and officially confirmed it. The price drop will be to the rumored $199.99. This will be the first drop since the console's launch and it will be effective this Sunday September 27th. The Nintendo Wii had dropped in sales in recent months so this makes a lot of sense, especially since Sony and Microsoft had recently dropped the price of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The Nintendo Wii price drop is effective this Sunday September 27th and will include the same retail pack that is available today.
