Warner Bros. has announced they have purchased Rocksteady Studios, the developer behind Batman: Arkham Asylum.
Batman: Arkham Asylum was one the biggest hits of last year and now the studio behind the game have been purchased by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. Rocksteady Studios kind of came out nowhere last year and released what many people believe was a real Game of the Year contender. They received a Studio of the Year award at the 2009 VGAs. At that same awards show, Rocksteady announced they are currently working on Batman: Arkham Asylum 2. If it is anything like the original game, the studio will have another huge hit on their hands. It made a lot of sense for Warner Bros. to take a majority stake in the studio as I’m sure it will be a great investment for both parties.
No release date has been set for Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 but a teaser trailer was released during the VGAs.
