A huge price drop for the Nintendo 3DS was just announced the other day and Walmart has decided to start the savings early.
Due to lower than expected sales of the recently released 3DS, Nintendo decided to slash the price from $250 to $169.99. This was huge news with the handheld only being out in the market for a little over 4 months now.
The official price drop date is this Friday August 11th, but there were rumors that Walmart might drop the price early. Apparently those rumors were true because you can pick the 3DS up for $169.99 at Walmart right now. To help appease the early adopters who might be angered by the quick price drop, Nintendo announced they would be giving them 20 free NES and Game Boy Advance Virtual console games. These will be given out to anybody who logs into the eShop before August 11th so if you pick one up, you might want to put that at the top of your to-do list.
