Valve has announced a new Counter-Strike game entitled Counter-Strike: Global Offensive that will be released in early 2012 for PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
Counter-Strike has long been in the top spot of most FPS fans as the all-time best shooter since it was released way back in 1999 and is still being played today. It has gone through several versions and a handful of retails releases since its release and fans have been patiently waiting for a true follow-up. That time has finally come now that Valve has announced Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
CS: GO will be a return to the old gameplay you know and love while adding new game modes, characters, weapons, and new maps as well as updates to classic ones like de_dust. Valve will also be adding matchmaking and leader boards.
No official release date has been announced, but we do know that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is going to be released in early 2012 on Steam, PSN, XBLA, and Mac.
