Sony Ericsson finally unveils the PlayStation Phone themselves with the official name of Xperia Play and they did it in a big way during the Super Bowl.
The PlayStation Phone has long been rumored/basically confirmed when video of the unannounced phone surfaced, but up until Sunday we didn’t have an official announcement that the phone was even real. All of that was thrown out the window when Sony Ericsson officially unveiled the phone during a Super Bowl commercial.
As you can see from the video below, the commercial confirmed that the phone will in fact run on the Android platform while also creeping everybody out and making sure they will never look at the Android mascot the same way again. No word on what carrier(s) the Xperia Play will be connected to in the US, but the company’s official Facebook page says there is going to be an announcement on February 13th.
