Bruce Willis Cast In Title Role of Kane And Lynch Movie

Bruce Willis Officially Cast In Kane And Lynch MovieAdrian Askarieh, the producer of the upcoming Kane & Lynch movie, has announced they have cast Bruce Willis in the title role.

The Kane & Lynch movie is being produced by Adrian Askarieh, who previously produced the Hitman movie, and it will be distributed by Lionsgate. Adrian announced during an interview with GameDaily, that Bruce Willis has officially signed on to be a part of the movie. Willis will take on the lead role of Kane. Willis was quoted as saying the script was "one of the best action scripts he'd ever read".

They are just starting with casting for the role of Lynch, but rumors are floating around putting Daniel Day Lewis or Billy Bob Thornton in the role. Both of which would be awesome. Filming will begin in March of next year. Simon Crane is set to director the film.

I think the story line of Kane & Lynch lends itself perfectly to a good movie script. The game was a little buggy, but overall is was a pretty good experience. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this movie. I've always been a fan of Bruce Willis so I'm interested in seeing how it turns out. Of course the casting of Bruce Willis is no guarantee it will be a good movie but it does give the movie a little more legitimacy. What do you guys think? Does Bruce Willis as Kane put this movie on your radar? Who would you like to see in the Lynch role?

Steven Spielberg Producing A Halo Movie?

Steven Spielberg Producing Halo MovieThere are rumors flying around that the long talked about Halo movie may now be in the hands of legendary director/producer Steven Spielberg.

IESB is reporting that Steven Spielberg was "blown away" by a script written by Stuart Beattie called Halo The Fall Of Reach. We have taken all of this is as the uncomfirmed rumor that it is, but IESB was very adamant that the rumor is very true. Kotaku contacted Microsoft and got a canned response that the Halo movie is on hold while they focus on the development of Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach.

Rumor or not, people are putting in their two cents on whether Spielberg would be good for the Halo movie or not. I, for one, think it could be a good thing. No one can deny that Spielberg has put out some good films over the years. I would have loved to have seen a big screen version of Neil Blomkamp and Peter Jackson's vision of the game, but Spielberg would be a pretty good consolation prize.

World Of Warcraft Movie To Be Directed By Sam Raimi

Sam Raimi To Direct World of Warcraft MovieBlizzard Entertainment and Legendary Pictures has announced that Sam Raimi will be directing the upcoming World of Warcraft movie.

Ain't It Cool News originally posted the news that Raimi will be directing the upcoming World of Warcraft film and then Blizzard confirmed the news with a press release. From the press release Sam Raimi says about doing the film "At its core, Warcraft is a fantastic, action-packed story, I am thrilled to work with such a dynamite production team to bring this project to the big screen."

For the two of you who don't know who Raimi is, he is the director of the hugely popular Spider-Man trilogy. He is also the mastermind behind the Evil Dead series of cult movies.

I for one am very excited about this news and I have high hopes for this film now. I can't wait to see if it makes it into that very elite club of video game movies that are actually good.

Uncharted: The Movie?

Uncharted Drakes Fortune Movie AnnouncedUncharted: Drake's Fortune will be making its way to the big screen apparently. Columbia Pictures is looking to make a feature film out the best-selling game.

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Columbia Pictures is adapting the video game and that Kyle Ward is writing the script. Kyle Ward has already written the script for the upcoming Kane & Lynch adaptation and he is also set to write the upcoming Hitman 2 sequel as well.

We'll see if this movie is just another horrible video game movie or if it can become one of the very few to rise above the junk. Uncharted was amazing so they at least have that foundation to build upon, plus they also have the hype surrounding the sequel to help bolster interest in the movie. We will just have to wait and see how it turns out and keep hoping that Hollywood realizes that video games could be a viable source if done right.

Duke Nukem Forever Screenshots

Duke Nukem ForeverOn the heels of the news that developer 3D Realms had been shutdown and that Duke Nukem Forever has been cancelled for now, some new un-released screenshots have surfaced.

Tramell Isaac, the ex-Art Director at 3D Realms, has released some new screenshots from Duke Nukem Forever on his blog. The shots were posted to help him land another job. From the look of the shots, he shouldn't have any problems finding another company. Good luck Tramell and everybody that was let go at 3D Realms.

High Resolution Fan Art Of Classic Video Games

Sonic The Hedgehog Fan ArtI'm a little late to the game but I found a post on lifehacker.com of some amazing remakes of classic video games. The artist's name is Mikael Aguirre and his work is on display at deviantART under the name Orioto.

I'm blown away by this guy's talent. In his gallery, he has remakes of classic moments with Sonic, Mario, and Link to just name a few. My favorite out of the bunch is the Sonic remake. If only we could get a Sonic game that looked this good oh and didn't suck the vast majority of these recent releases. Good Orioto, you make us all jealous of your talent.

UGO buys 1UP and EGM closes

UGO Entertainment and its parent company, the Hearst Corporation, have purchased the 1UP network from Ziff-Davis. This purchase includes 1UP.com and its sister sites, GameTab.com, GameVideos.com, and MyCheats.com. 40 employees have also been let go due to the sale and the much beloved magazine, Electronic Gaming Monthy, is no more.

The news shouldn't have come as much of a shock with all of the news surrounding Ziff-Davis' financial situation and all of the rumors of a possible purchase, but it did to all of us. Our thoughts go out to all of the talented people that were let go. We hope the very best for you guys and we look forward to seeing what is next for each of you.

Stephen Totilo has posted an interview that he had with UGO's CEO, J Moses. In the interview, J Moses states that he and his company shouldn't be seen as the bad guys in this whole situation. In his eyes, his company saved 1UP and its sister sites from going away completely. He states that most of the layoffs were due to the closure of EGM, which was a decision made by Ziff-Davis.
