Leaked documents from a alleged meeting between Sony and Sega reveal that all PS2 games could be coming to the PlayStation 3.
Take this story with a huge grain of salt but there are supposed leaked documents of a meeting between Sony and Sega that reveal Sony wants to bring every PS2 game to the PlayStation 3. The alleged meeting took place on August 5th and sheds some light on Sony's possible future plans for all of their platforms. Originally posted on a French site and then thrown up on NeoGaf, the document lays out some really huge plans from Sony. The biggest news from the leaked document shows that Sony wants to bring the whole PS2 catalog to the PSN in the future. Was this the real reason why Sony cut backwards compatibility? It does make a lot of sense but it will also piss off a lot of people if it's true. The document also states that Sony's motion controller will be released in March 2010 in Japan and then Spring for the rest of us. Another huge announcement that a lot of people would be excited for is that Sony hopes to bring original Dreamcast games to the PSN as well as Japanese imports.
As I said before, take this story with a huge grain of salt because any one of these announcements would be huge news, let alone all of them coming true. We will have to see how this plays out but let's hope that at least some of these come true. Check out the full leaked document after the break.Read more...
Capcom is finally bringing a co-op demo of Lost Planet 2 to the PlayStation 3 at the end of this month.
PlayStation 3 owners will finally be getting their own Lost Planet 2 demo on September 24th, the first day of the Tokyo Game Show. Even though they had to wait almost a month after Xbox 360 owners received the demo, PS3 owners will get a better version. The PS3 version will include the same battle against the G-Type Akrid, in addition they will also receive two new missions to play through. Capcom will also be releasing a new trailer for the game the same day the demo is posted. The new will feature the game's desert environment.
The Lost Planet 2 co-op demo will be released on PSN September 24th.
Super Stardust HD developer Housemarque has announced their new PSN exclusive title Dead Nation and released a debut trailer.
Super Stardust HD was a huge hit for the developer and they are looking to follow that up with Dead Nation, an awesome new zombie killing action game. Dead Nation looks amazing with its cool lighting and explosions. It also looks to be action-packed and a lot of fun. It will feature online and offline 2 player co-op play which should be pretty cool. Dead Nation will also feature hundreds of zombies on screen at once which I'm sure with add help add to the hectic action.
Dead Nation does not have a released date yet but we do know that it will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and will be available on the PSN. Check out the debut trailer after the jump.Read more...
Battlefield: 1943 is available now on Xbox LIVE Arcade and DICE has released an official launch trailer for the game.
Battlefield: 1943 is basically a multiplayer only update to one of my favorite online shooters of all time, Battlefield: 1942. It offers 4 classic maps Wake Island, Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima and Coral Sea, and it will allow up to 24 players to shoot it out.
For anybody that hasn't played the original, Battlefield: 1943 incorporates land, sea, and air combat in a perfect mix of mayhem. Battlefield: 1943 is available now for XBLA and will be available on the PlayStation Network tomorrow, both for $15. Check out the trailer after the break.Read more...
