One of Rock Band 3's most anticipated additions is the new keyboard and now it gets it very own trailer.
We have a little over two months before Rock Band 3 is released and people are instantly turned into professional musicians overnight. That is the goal anyway behind Harmonix's decision to push the rhythm genre closer to using actual instruments. In addition to the guitar, drums, and a microphone, Harmonix has added the all new keyboard and included some pretty cool songs to take advantage of it. The all new trailer shows that the keyboard is not going to be a walk in the park though. We will have to wait and see if their decision to go the realistic route pays off or not.
Rock Band 3 is going to be released on October 26th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and the DS. Check out the keyboard trailer after the jump.Read more...
Codemasters debuted the first teaser trailer for DiRT 3 during ESPN's X-Games this weekend.
DiRT 3 was officially announced back in March and we haven't heard much about it since then. Codemasters announced last week they would be debuting the first teaser trailer during ESPN's X-Games over the weekend and sure enough we got our first taste from the game. Unfortunately it is all CG but very beautiful all the same. The DiRT 3 teaser trailer gives us glimpses at what to expect from the game which will feature rain, snow, classic cars, as well as new locations. It will also feature a type of motorsport called gymkhana that you will get a glimpse of right at the end of the trailer when the driver slides under an exploding truck. I'm undecided if this is going to be a good addition to the franchise or not but it looks pretty cool in the teaser. We will just have to wait and see when they release some actual in-game footage.
DiRT 3 is going to be released sometime in 2011. No platforms have been announced yet but I'm sure we can expect it to hit all the major ones next year. Check out the first teaser trailer after the break.Read more...
Nintendo has announced that it will be revealing the Nintendo 3DS' price and release date at the end of September.
Nintendo blew everybody away when it unveiled the 3DS at E3 this year. They also announced they would be bringing a metric ton of blockbuster franchises to the forthcoming handheld including Kid Icarus Uprising, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 3DS, and Star Fox 64 3D. The only thing missing from the huge unveil was a release date and a price.
Nintendo is looking to right that last little bit soon. Bloomberg Japan via GameIndustry.biz is reporting that Nintendo is going to reveal the 3DS release date and price on September 29th. Nintendo's President Reggie Fils-Aime, originally stated on Jimmy Fallon that it will be released next year. That reveal was then announced to be a mistake so now we really have no idea of when it will hit store shelves. At least now people have a solid date when they will actually find out how long before they get their hands on the 3DS.
Harmonix has dropped the release date for Rock Band 3 and gives details on the various pre-order deals.
Originally announced back in March, Rock Band 3 looks to change the way we look at rhythm games by offering a Pro mode in their next installment. The new Pro mode will look to simulate what it is like to actually play an instrument. The new Rock Band 3 will also add a new keyboard instrument to your stack of plastic controllers.
Harmonix announced today Rock Band 3 is hitting store shelves on October 26th. Along with the announcement, a handful of pre-order bonuses were let out. Walmart is offering a $10 e-card and Amazon is offering an exclusive in-game guitar for their pre-orders. GameStop is going the free song route and offering 3 downloadable songs that include "Burning Down the House" by Talking Heads, "Blue Monday" by New Order, and "My Own Summer" by The Deftones.
Rock Band 3 is going to be released on October 26th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and the DS.
Nintendo finally answered a lot of old school gamers' prayers when they announced Kid Icarus: Uprising with a debut trailer.
It has been a long time coming and I'm sure there are a lot of people out there weren't even born when the first Kid Icarus came out back in 1987 for the NES. Nintendo made a lot of people happy when they announced Kid Icarus: Uprising at E3 and that it will be released as a launch title for the newly unveiled 3DS.
Not much is known about the story yet except that will again take control Pit as he takes on the Goddess of Dark Medusa with the help of Palutena, the Goddess of Light. As you can see from the debut trailer, the new game will be in 3D and will include Pit soaring through the skies taking on enemies. I think this is going to be huge hit with old school gamers that have been waiting a long time for a true sequel when the Nintendo 3DS is released. Check out the Kid Icarus: Uprisingdebut trailer after the break.Read more...

It was also feature a slider controller that will allow you to adjust the 3D for the best viewing.

The first official debut trailer has been released for Call of Duty: Black Ops and it looks like an awesome action packed ride.
The announcement of Call of Duty: Black Ops was kind of lost in all of the news between Activision and Infinity Ward. The newest installment in the Call of Duty franchise will be developed by Treyarch, the studio behind the pretty decent Call of Duty: World at War. A teaser trailer was released along with the announcement but we didn't get to see much. The new trailer gives us more insight into the game's story and packs a lot of action. The setting for the new game has been rumored for awhile with many people guessing Vietnam. It looks like the rumors were true but it is only one of the many places we will get to travel to as seen in the trailer. It's an awesome looking trailer and I'm excited to see more from the game.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is going to be released on November 9th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Nintendo Wii, and the DS. Check out the debut trailer after the break.Read more...
EA has officially announced that The Sims 3 will be coming to consoles this Fall with a few extra features.
The Sims 3 debuted last year on the PC and Mac and did quite well. EA is following up with that success by bringing The Sims 3 to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and the DS this Fall. The new console version will include all of the fun Sims tools that will allow you to torture your character or let them thrive. In addition to the features that were included in the PC version, the console players will be able use the all new Karma powers. These will give you instant control over your character so you can let them "get lucky", receive "instant beauty", or stick them with an "epic fail".
The Nintendo Wii version will receive an exclusive beach town for your Sims to build their neighborhood in. The Nintendo DS version will also receive some exclusives. You will be able to build your walls, floors and customize pretty much everything else in the game using the DS stylus.
The Sims 3 will be available this Fall on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, and the Nintendo DS.
Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon: Future Soldier receives a live action trailer that gives us a few details about the game.
Very little is known about the recently announced Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. The game was announced with a teaser trailer a couple of months ago and not much info has been released since. Ubisoft has now released a live action trailer that gives us some small details about the game. We know that we will be fighting Russia ultranationalists that have violently seized power. In addition to the cool looking cloaking device that was revealed in the debut teaser trailer, the new trailer shows off a drone that you can control and has a mean looking machine gun attached. The coolest thing shown in the trailer though is the awesome looking shoulder mounted rocket launcher. You can see the soldiers painting their target and unleashing a barrage of missiles on some tanks. Pretty cool trailer but I really hope we get to see some actual gameplay soon.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is going to be released later this year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PSP, and the PC. Check out the live action trailer after the break.Read more...
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 has received a new trailer, this one based around Harry's third year at Hogwarts.
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 Trailer will obviously be based around Harry's first 4 years at Hogwarts. The new trailer like the previous one is centered on one of the books in the best selling series. This one shows off the events that took place during Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban where we are introduced to Sirius Black. All of the characters you know and love make an appearance in new trailer. Like previous trailers, this one looks like a lot of fun and shows that they have really captured the look and feel of the Harry Potter world. Traveller's Tales knows what they doing when it comes to these Lego games and I have no doubt this one will be just as fun as the others. Who doesn't get all excited when they hear that distinctive Harry Potter theme kick in?
Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is going to be released this May for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, Nintendo DS, PSP, and the PC. Check out the new trailer after the jump.Read more...
Ubisoft is giving out more details on the upcoming Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands game in a new developer interview.
May is looking to be a huge month for the Prince of Persia franchise. Ubisoft will be releasing the Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands on May 18th for every major console and then following that up with the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time summer blockbuster at the end of the month. Ubisoft has given us more details on the game in a recent interview with the Level Design Director, Michael McIntyre.
In the developer interview we get to see new gameplay footage that shows off some of the Prince's new powers including his ability to solidify water. In the video we get to see him turn running water into pillars that he can then grab onto and jump onto the next one. This is only one of the many elemental powers that the Prince with be able to learn. The video also shows off the game's fighting system that has been improved and it will allow the Prince to fight 50 enemies at once. The new game looks like it will be a worthy addition to the franchise.

Nintendo has confirmed the rumors that they will be releasing a new DS soon and even threw in a nice curveball.
Nintendo has finally come out and officially announced they are developing a follow-up to the hugely successful Nintendo DS. The new handheld console is temporarily being called the Nintendo 3DS. It will be able to 3D games without the need for 3D glasses apparently. It will be backwards compatible so it will play any current Nintendo DS or DSi game. Not much else is known at this point. Nintendo will be giving more details on the new handheld at this year's E3. I'm really curious to hear how they will be able to deliver 3D games without the glasses and I hope they can let the TV manufacturers in on their little secret. No official word on whether it will include the rumored motion controls or not.
The Nintendo 3DS will be released during the fiscal year between April 2010 and March 2011. We can expect to hear more news this June at E3 2010. I would venture to guess we have a pretty good chance of seeing it this holiday season. We will just have to wait and see though. What do you guys think? Are you excited about the Nintendo 3DS?
Codemasters has announced that they are currently working on Colin McRae: DiRT 3, the follow up to one of last year's best racing games.
The announcement of DiRT 3 is basically a no-brainer. The last installments in the series have been huge hits for Codemasters and it is not surprising at all that they would be working on another one. Codemasters' Vice-President announced the newest game in the latest issue of Edge Online that will be released next week. He goes on to state that the culture they've built at their Birmingham studio is to encourage innovation and that we can expect to see a lot of great stuff in the new game. Other than knowing that the game is under development, nothing else is known about the latest addition to the franchise.
No release date or platforms have been announced yet for Colin McRae: DiRT 3 but I'm sure we can expect to see it on all major platforms like previous games.
More rumors surface surrounding the big announcement from Nintendo that could come as soon as the upcoming Game Developer's Conference. The rumors are again pointing to a possible Nintendo DS 2 announcement.
Many rumors that point towards a big Nintendo announcement at the next GDC have come back to and lend more credibility to a possible Nintendo DS 2 reveal. CVG via Gamekyo is again reporting sources that confirm the Nintendo DS 2 exists and that it has been handed out to multiple developers already. A developer that is rumored to have received the new hardware is The Pokémon Company. They are quoted as saying that "It's genuinely the best thing I think I've ever worked with". He goes on to say that it includes a tilt function that is much like the iPhone's but that it does a lot more. He unfortunately shoots down the theory that the new DS 2 will be announced at the upcoming GDC. The timeline he was rumored to have been given from Nintendo did not line up with a March announcement. Let's hope he was wrong and we get to hear about the new hardware soon.
