Epic was making the rounds at the recent Game Developer's Conference to show off the updated Unreal engine with a Gears of War 3 tech demo playing on it.
Epic was showing off several demos at the recent GDC to highlight the advancements they have made with the newest Unreal Engine updates. One of the videos they showed was of a quick Gears of War 3 tech demo. It is very short unfortunately but it does show off some awesome footage of a Brumak stomping through a rainy forest. The level of detail is very impressive and I can't wait to see what Epic is going to do with the next installment in the best selling franchise. Everybody knows that a 3rd game in the Gears of War franchise is coming and the new tech demo might give us a hint on what direction they could be going as the game is still unannounced at this point.

Sony has officially named their upcoming PlayStation 3 motion controller and gives more details on its upcoming release.
During their press conference at the Game Developer's Conference today, Sony officially names their motion controller. The name you have all been waiting to hear is not the Arc or the Gem but the PlayStation Move. It features the same glowing orb on top that was shown off during it's unveil at last year's E3 and it does in fact change colors. It will come in 3 packages, a stand-alone controller for people that already own the PlayStation Eye, a starter kit that includes the controller, PlayStation Eye, and a game. The last option will be the ultimate package that will come with a PS3, DualShock 3, PlayStation Move controller, and an eye.
Several games were also announced that will take advantage of the new motion controller. Sports Champions is mini-game package that is a lot like Wii Sports. A few of the games it will feature is archery, a gladiator duel game, and table tennis. Move Party will include all kinds of mini-games that will include you in the gameplay and change the look of the controller to match the game. The Shoot is an on-rails shooter that will take you through many different movie sets. Sony also announced that Little Big Planet and the recently announced SOCOM 4 will also take advantage of the new controller among others.
PlayStation Move will be released later this year and Sony has announced that the starter kit will be under $100. Check out the PlayStation Move trailer after the break.Read more...
There have been numerous rumors floating around that Nintendo may possibly have a new hardware announcement at this year's GDC 2010.
Nintendo has been tight lipped about any new hardware announcements but many people believe it could possibly be the rumored Nintendo Wii HD. Nintendo has denied all rumors up to this point but now VideoGamer.com has a rumor on their site that quotes an unnamed developer. Their source apparently knows other developers that are already working on the new platform and that it might be announced at this year's Game Developers Conference.
We will definitely keep this one in our rumor pile until we get official confirmation but there have been too many rumors floating around to just dismiss it. No word on whether it could be a new handheld or home console. It would seem odd if it was a new handheld after the fairly recent announcement of the Nintendo DSi XL. We will keep our eye out for any new information but we might get an announcement as soon as early next month.
