First DiRT 3 Screenshots Surface

First DiRT 3 Screenshots SurfaceCodemasters has released the first screenshots from the upcoming DiRT 3 to whet your appetite.

The DiRT franchise has been highly regarded as one of the better driving franchises out there and we expect the third installment to continue that trend. Codemasters officially announced DiRT 3 back in March to no one's surprise since DiRT 2 was pretty well reserved although with some criticisms. They hope to answer those people with their newest addition sometime next year. They will be bringing the weather as can be seen in the first shots released for the game in our DiRT 3 gallery. These were also shown in the DiRT 3's first teaser trailer that was shown during this year's X-Games. What can also been seen in the new screens is what was hinted at in the teaser trailer, the game's new gymkhana gameplay. You can clearly see a track with an obstacle course that you will have to run through that looks like a lot of fun. The screens and teaser trailer look awesome and we can't wait to try it next year.

DiRT 3 is going to be released sometime in 2011 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC. Check out the first screens from the game in our DiRT 3 gallery.

DiRT 3 Teaser Trailer Released

DiRT 3 Teaser Trailer ReleasedCodemasters debuted the first teaser trailer for DiRT 3 during ESPN's X-Games this weekend.

DiRT 3 was officially announced back in March and we haven't heard much about it since then. Codemasters announced last week they would be debuting the first teaser trailer during ESPN's X-Games over the weekend and sure enough we got our first taste from the game. Unfortunately it is all CG but very beautiful all the same. The DiRT 3 teaser trailer gives us glimpses at what to expect from the game which will feature rain, snow, classic cars, as well as new locations. It will also feature a type of motorsport called gymkhana that you will get a glimpse of right at the end of the trailer when the driver slides under an exploding truck. I'm undecided if this is going to be a good addition to the franchise or not but it looks pretty cool in the teaser. We will just have to wait and see when they release some actual in-game footage.

DiRT 3 is going to be released sometime in 2011. No platforms have been announced yet but I'm sure we can expect it to hit all the major ones next year. Check out the first teaser trailer after the break.Read more...

Twisted Metal PS3 Announced With Gameplay Trailer

Twisted Metal PS3 Announced With Gameplay TrailerSony had a nice surprise announcement at the recent E3 2010. Twisted Metal is coming back in a big way on the PlayStation 3.

A new Twisted Metal game had long been rumored to be in development and denied by its creator David Jaffe. That was all before he came out on stage at Sony's E3 2010 press conference and dropped the bomb.

The new PlayStation 3 exclusive Twisted Metal game will feature 16 players online and 2-4 player local split screen action. As you can see from the gameplay video they released it will feature all new vehicles and weapons to play with. There are quite a few crazy weapons on display including what appears to be remote control gurney with patient attached that you can explosively drive into other players and a hearse that can shoot coffins. Helicopters are another awesome addition to the franchise and you can see them raining bullets down from above in the video. Sweet Tooth will obviously make his triumphant return and it looks like his vehicle can now transform into a gun wielding robot. The gameplay looks awesome and fans of the series should be really excited about the announcement.

No official released date for the new Twisted Metal game except for sometime in 2011 but it will be exclusively released on the PlayStation 3. Check out the gameplay trailer after the jump.Read more...

Colin McRae: DiRT 3 Officially Announced

DiRT 3 Officially AnnouncedCodemasters has announced that they are currently working on Colin McRae: DiRT 3, the follow up to one of last year's best racing games.

The announcement of DiRT 3 is basically a no-brainer. The last installments in the series have been huge hits for Codemasters and it is not surprising at all that they would be working on another one. Codemasters' Vice-President announced the newest game in the latest issue of Edge Online that will be released next week. He goes on to state that the culture they've built at their Birmingham studio is to encourage innovation and that we can expect to see a lot of great stuff in the new game. Other than knowing that the game is under development, nothing else is known about the latest addition to the franchise.

No release date or platforms have been announced yet for Colin McRae: DiRT 3 but I'm sure we can expect to see it on all major platforms like previous games.

Forza 3 Launch Trailer Released

Forza 3 Launch Trailer ReleasedMicrosoft and Turn 10 Studios have released a launch trailer for the upcoming Forza 3 focusing on the great reviews it has received so far.

Forza 3 has been hyped since it was first announced. Does it live up to the hype? It has so far if you look at the early reviews. It is currently at 92% on Metacritic which is obviously very good. The game looks beautiful, there is no denying that. It also has a huge amount of cars and tracks with over 400 cars and 100 tracks. The previous Forza games sold pretty well and the third installment in the franchise looks to outpace the previous ones. Will it be enough the reigning champ, Gran Turismo 5? That remains to be seen until GT5 is released next year. I was a big fan of the first two games and I am looking forward to this one draining a bunch of my free time. Who is going to pick this one up? Or are you going to save your money for Gran Turismo 5? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Forza 3 is being released next Tuesday, October 27th. Check out the launch trailer after the jump.

New Forza 3 Rewind Gameplay Trailer Released

Forza 3 Rewind Feature Gameplay TrailerTurn 10 Studios has released a new gameplay video of the upcoming Forza 3, this time showcasing the game's rewind feature.

Forza 3 is inching closer to it's release date at the end October, so we can expect to see many more videos popping up soon. The new gameplay video shows off Forza 3's rewind feature. The assist feature allows you to back up to certain point in your race, preferably before you just rammed your car into a wall, and re-try that particular part of the race. There is no limit to how many times you can use the assist or the time between rewinds. The feature is much like the ones utilized in GRID, although it only allowed you to use the feature a limited number of times. The video was show at the recent PAX 09 event.

Forza 3 is going to be released on October 27th on the Xbox 360. We have some great shots of the game in our Forza 3 screenshot gallery. Check out the gameplay video after the break.Read more...

ModNation Racers was originally announced back at Sony's E3 conference. It gives you a great look at the kart, player, and especially the track customization options that will be available to you. New Batch Of DiRT 2 Screenshots Released

New DiRT 2 Screenshots ReleasedCodemasters has released an all new batch of screenshots for Colin McRae: DiRT 2 and look great.

These batches of DiRT 2 screenshots keep looking better and better. I can't wait to get my hands on this game. The shots show off a lot of the different race events you will get to play in the final release. The original DiRT was a great game and the sequel looks to best the original in all areas. The visuals look unreal and has many people questioning whether these are actual in-game screenshots or not. I guess we will have to wait until September to see if Codemasters can pull it off.

Colin McRae: DiRT 2 is going to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and the PC this September. Check out the new screenshots in our DiRT 2 gallery.

New Forza 3 Screenshots Released

Forza 3Turn 10 has released a new batch of screenshots for Forza 3 and they are just as impressive as the last batch.

Turn 10 is busy finishing up the highly anticipated racer and it really shows in the beautiful shots from the game. I'm blown away by the detail given to each car. I think one of the most telling comments about how beautiful this game is looking is that while I was checking out the new screenshots, I actually had someone come by my desk and ask if I was looking to buy a new car. The detail on these cars looks that good. Watch your back Gran Turismo.

Forza Motorsport 3 is set to be released this October exclusively on the Xbox 360. Check out all of the screenshots in our Forza 3 gallery.

Split Second Debut Trailer

Split SecondThe debut trailer for Split/Second has been released and it looks great. Developed by the creators of Pure, Black Rock Studio, Split/Second looks to stand out in the crowded world of racing games in early 2010.

Split/Second looks to be a cross between GRID and Mario Kart. The premise of the game is that you are part of a reality TV show and you are racing to be the season champion. The cool thing that Split/Second is bringing to the table is giving the drivers the ability to trigger explosives events to take out their opponents. If the game looks and plays anything like the trailer promises, this game could have what it takes to push its way above all the other me-too racers set to be released.

Split/Second is hopefully going to be released in early 2010 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC. It is being published by Disney Interactive Studios. Check out the trailer after the break.Read more...
