Amid rumors pointing towards a higher capacity model, Sony has officially announced the new 250GB PlayStation 3.
Since the PS3 Slim announcement and successful launch of the long rumored slimmer model, there have also been rumors of a second SKU floating around. Sony has officially announced they will in fact be releasing a 250GB version of the PlayStation 3. It will have all the same features (or lack of features) as the new slimmer model and will be sold for $349.99. The UK has already received 250GB bundles for awhile and now North America will be receiving our own. I’m not sure why Sony is going to back to the multiple SKU business model but I guess if you want a larger hard drive, there you go. I’m sure Sony is hoping you will fill it with all that DLC they want you to buy on the PSN. Does anyone plan on picking one of these up? Any interest in a larger hard drive?
The new 250GB PlayStation 3 will be released on November 3rd.
