Sony came out with guns blazing today at E3 2011 and officially named and priced the NGP.
The official name of the NGP is in fact the PlayStation Vita or PS Vita as was leaked earlier. The NGP was announced back in January, and in addition to the official name, we also now know we will get our hands on the new handheld this year. Sony also was kind enough to price the PS Vita as well. Releasing at the end of this year, the PS Vita will run you $249 in the US for the WiFi only edition. The 3G/WiFi model is going to run you $299 and will be exclusive to AT&T.
Launching alongside the new handheld will be a ton of new games including some must haves Uncharted: Golden Abyss and LittleBigPlanet. You will also be able to pick up Wipeout, ModNation Racers, Reality Fighter (working title), Super Stardust Delta, Sound Shapes, Hot Shots Golf, Hustle Kings, Ruin (working title), and more. On top of the announced games, Sony says you will be able to play on your PS Vita games and resume your saved game on the PlayStation 3.
The PlayStation Vita is going to be released at the end of 2011 for $249 in the US.
