Red Dead Redemption was announced today by Rockstar Games. It is a follow up to its Old West shooter, Red Dead Revolver that was released back in 2004 on the original Xbox and PlayStation 2. The follow-up is scheduled to be released this fall for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Red Dead Redemption uses the same engine (RAGE) that powers GTA IV, to give players and open-world environment to explore. You take on the role of former outlaw John Marston on his travels across the American frontier. The open-world environment will allow you to explore frontier towns, mountain passes, and wildlife filled prairies.
