Nintendo’s Wii U Spec Details Leaked

Nintendo's Wii U Spec Details LeakedNintendo’s upcoming follow-up to the Wii, the Wii u, is still a mystery for the most part, but a Japanese developer may have leaked details on the console’s specs.

The juggernaut that is the Nintendo Wii is reaching the end of its life, but Nintendo’s follow-up console is still up in the air with a ton of rumors swirling on what the finalized console will actually. The Wii U was officially announced back at E3 2011, but the finalized version is still not completely known. Now an unnamed Japanese developer may have leaked the console’s specs.

The Wii U is rumored to have a Quad Core, 3 GHz PowerPC-based 45nm CPU, 768 MB of DRAM, and an unknown 40nm ATI-based GPU. Nintendo is reportedly testing out two different versions of the console with one sporting 1GB of RAM. With all of this under the hood, the Wii U is supposed to be 50% more powerful than the Xbox 360 and PlayStation. Of course take this all as a rumor at this point since nothing has been confirmed by Nintendo. Do you think this will be enough for Nintendo to grab a little bit of the hardcore market share? Or do you think they will just be content with being a generation behind in power again when Xbox 720 and PS4 hit, but gain another stranglehold on total console sales? Expect to hear more about the Wii U’s final details at next year’s E3.
