New Video of Unannounced PlayStation Phone Surfaces

New Video of Unannounced PlayStation Phone SurfacesA new video showing Sony’s unannounced PlayStation Phone surfaces and this time it’s hard to deny that the phone might actually be real.

There have been several rumors surrounding an impending announcement from Sony that they are in fact working on a PlayStation Phone, codenamed Zeus Z1. Up until now, we’ve seen images that may or may not have been PhotoShopped, but looked real. Then a video was released that spied the phone in action but it was hard to tell it apart from any other Smartphone out there. Now a new video surfaces that Engadget found on YouTube user xxmajstor’s page that leaves little doubt that the phone is real and is all kinds of awesome.

The new video is about 2 clear minutes of up close and personal footage of the phone in action. It is definitely still a work in progress as clearly indicated when the phone is slid open and an application error pops up. We get a good shot of the phone’s info that shows the model name as Zeus and the Android version as Gingerbread which verifies earlier rumors about the OS. We also get shots showing off the home page and the various icons. One icon in particular is interesting as it clearly shows a PlayStation icon that launches a game library that shows all or recently played games. Unfortunately we don’t get any shots of actual games being played so we still have no idea what is going to be available for the phone. We still don’t know whether it plays downloadable PSP or modified PlayStation 3 and earlier console games or just offerings from Android. Lastly it shows the touchpad in the middle of the slide-out but doesn’t show that in action either.

As of now the PlayStation Phone is still unannounced so we have to say this is still a rumor but it is hard to deny that the video doesn’t verify everything we’ve heard up to this point. I would guess we will hear more about this at the upcoming CES event if not before. Check out the new videos after the jump. The bottom one clearly shows the PlayStation icon.
