Ubisoft has announced that they are developing a new game in the Prince of Persia franchise that will release alongside the movie next year.
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that Ubisoft would be releasing something alongside the film next year and today they officially announced it. Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands will be hitting store shelves in May 2010. It will abandon the storyline from last year’s Prince of Persia game and return to the Sands of Time story. Fans of the reboot will be disappointed at the direction but the change isn’t surprising considering the movie is based off the earlier games. Ubisoft also announced that they will be showing off a world premiere video from the game at this year’s Spike TV Video Game Awards on December 12th.
I’m sure we can expect the new Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands to be released on all platforms when it comes out next year.
