EA has announced a new game in the long running Medal of Honor franchise and this time it will be a modern day reboot.
Well it looks like EA is dusting off the Medal of Honor franchise and giving it the popular “reboot” treatment that most other games are getting lately. Medal of Honor was the top of the heap before the Call of Duty franchise surpassed them and never looked back. Now EA is hoping to bring it back to its former glory.
The new Medal of Honor game will leave its WWII roots and bring us to into modern day Afghanistan. You will take the role of a Tier 1 Operator in this new game. According to EA a Tier 1 Operator is “a relatively unknown entity directly under the National Command Authority who takes on missions no one else can handle”. The EA Los Angeles team will be working on the single player side of the game and DICE will be handling the multiplayer side. Both teams are hoping to create the “most authentic modern war experience”.
The new Medal of Honor game will be released Fall 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC. A world premiere video will be shown at Spike’s Video Game Awards. Check out a short teaser trailer after the break.
