Piranha Games and Smith & Tinker have announced they are developing a new MechWarrior for the PC and Xbox 360.

Amidst several rumors flying around the Internet, IGN has posted an interview with the co-creators of the new game. They promise it will be full reboot of the series which seems to be the popular thing to do these days. The new title will simply be called MechWarrior and it is being developed for the PC and Xbox 360. It is set during the year of 3015 and on the planet of Deshler. You will play as Adrian Khol, a nobleman whose whole family has been killed.

The new MechWarrior game will use the Unreal Engine 3 and it looks amazing. It will offer 4 player co-op campaign and some multiplayer action as well. Unfortunately no release was given yet so we will have to wait until more information is released. Check out the trailer after the break.
