Mojang has announced they will be bringing the highly addictive Minecraft exclusively to the Xperia Play.
The indie mega hit Minecraft was previously announced for the Android platform along with iPhone and iPad versions. Speaking with Gamasutra, Mojange has announced that the Android version of Minecraft will be available on the Xperia Play before other handhelds. It will have special controls that will take full advantage of the Xperia Play’s PlayStation buttons.
When it was announced previously, Mojang said the handheld versions of Minecraft would not receive every update that the PC version receives. They do say however, that they would follow the model from the PC and “release early and update frequently.”
Unfortunately no release date or how much it will cost you has been announced yet. They also didn’t mention how long the Xperia Play would hold the exclusive on the Android version.
