Sony and Media Molecule have officially announced the long rumored Little Big Planet 2 and it looks to add some really cool new features.
The original Little Big Planet was a huge hit but many people believe it never reached its full potential. The long rumored sequel looks to change that by adding a ton of new features that should excite a lot of people. The upcoming June 2010 issue of Game Informer magazine will officially make the announcement and the game’s possible details have already been posted onto NeoGaf. In the magazine’s Little Big Planet 2 story it will be revealed that Media Molecule has added a whole new editor to the game that will allow you to not only make new levels but will give you the ability to create whole new games. To show off the capabilities of the new editor, one developer has created a fully functioning Command &Â Conquer clone. In addition to a real-time strategy game, you can create shooters, racers, puzzle games, or even an RPG. A new direct control seat has been added that you can attach to any object and this will allow you to customize the controls of the game. The new game will allow you to use your own sounds and voices now. The enemy creator has also gotten a huge upgrade too with the addition of Sackbots. These will allow you create much more realistic enemies that you have a lot more control over and dress them up however you want. A new movie editor will now be available that will you make full cut scenes where you control camera angles and voice-overs. These are just a few of the ton of new features that are being added to the sequel that should really excite fans of the series.
No official release date has been announced for Little Big Planet 2 but it will obviously be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. They have announced that all DLC from the original Little Big Planet will transfer over to LB2 which is really cool.
