Microsoft’s Kinect has been used in tons of hacks since its release, but the newest one may be the most impressive so far.
At first Microsoft tried to fight the hackers and limit the Kinect to just play with the Xbox 360 and they finally realized it was better to embrace the community. They were rewarded with the fastest selling consumer device according to the Guinness World Records. Now with the newest hack, the Kinect is invading the PlayStation 3.
Sites dedicated to profiling some of these hacks have popped up everywhere like KinectHacks.net. One such hack is from a guy named Shantanu Goel that shows how to make Microsoft’s Kinect work on a PlayStation 3 with legal firmware. He shows that he can navigate the XMB and even play Killzone 3. His software is pre-alpha so it is still a little shaky, but shows some promise.
