Hulu has officially announced their plans for a premium service and it will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Hulu has long been rumored to make its way to the consoles and users have been anxiously waiting for that expected announcement. It finally happened today when Hulu officially announced their plans to create a new premium service called Hulu Plus. It will allow users access to full seasons of hit shows like Modern Family and 30 Rock. It will also give you access to watch complete series of older shows like The X-Files and Arrested Development. The downside is that it will cost $9.99 a month but depending on what you are paying for television now this may be the first real alternative.
The best part of the announcement for gamers was that this new premium service is coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It should be making its way to PlayStation 3 starting in July but Xbox 360 owners will have to wait until early 2011. On the plus side, the Xbox 360 version will be a custom experience that will take advantage of Xbox LIVE's social community and the recently unveiled Kinect. You will have to have an Xbox LIVE Gold account to access the service though. No word on whether you will need to have a PSN Plus account to access it on the PlayStation 3.
