Nintendo has announced a huge price drop for the recently released Nintendo 3DS.
The Nintendo 3DS was released less than five months ago, but is already receiving a massive price drop. Nintendo’s newest handheld was released on March 27th in the U.S. for $250, but due to lower than expected sales and low opinions on its future, Nintendo decided to make a bold move. Beginning August 12th in the U.S., the 3DS will drop down to $169.99.
For those early adopters, Nintendo has announced an incentive plan to try an avert those soured by the announcement. Nintendo has said that anybody who buys the 3DS before the price drop will receive 20 free games that include virtual console classics from the NES and Game Boy Advance era. Some of the free titles included are Super Mario Bros, Donkey Kong JR., The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi’s Island, and Mario Kart Advance. The full list of announced games is below. You must log into the Nintendo eShop once before August 11th to be eligible for the free games.
