Rockstar announces it will be bringing Grand Theft Auto 3 to select iOS and Android devices this Fall.
Grand Theft Auto 3 was the first open-world sandbox game for Rockstar and ushered in what is now one of biggest selling franchises of all time. Originally released back in 2001 for the PlayStation 2, GTA 3 is celebrating its tenth birthday this month. To commemorate the anniversary, Rockstar is releasing it onto some iOS and Android devices. So far they have confirmed it for iPad 2, iPhone 4S, Droid X2, HTC Evo 2, Motorola Xoom, and more. Check below for a full list of confirmed devices. The re-release will be making its way to the iTunes App Store and the Android Market this Fall.
In addition to the GTA 3 announcement, Rockstar is releasing a limited-edition action figure of the game’s star, Claude. Sideshow has been tasked to create the collectible and it comes with different outfits and weapons to accessorize it with. The 1:6 scale figure will run you $149.99 and is available for pre-order now.
