Cyanide Studios has announced Game of Thrones, an action RPG that will be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.
Game of Thrones is based on the best-selling fantasy novels written by George R.R. Martin and the recent critically acclaimed HBO TV show that has already been renewed for a second season. The fantasy series, A Song of Ice and Fire, should lend itself perfectly to an RPG game and Cyanide Studios looks to agree.
Game of Thrones will follow the storyline from the book and TV show, but will be an original story that pulls settings from the main one, but will also be independent of it. The new storyline has been overseen by Martin himself and will follow two new characters that were former members of Robert’s Rebellion. You will be able to explore familiar locations from the books and Cyanide Studios promises 30+ hours of gameplay in the action RPG.
Game of Thrones is going to be released in early 2012 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC.
