EA Sports has released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming MMA fighting game and it actually looks really good.
For anybody that watched the awesome fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Brett Rogers Saturday night, you got to see this trailer already. The trailer matches up the two heavyweights and gives us a glimpse at the gameplay. I was a big fan of the UFC 2009 Undisputed game and I’m anxious to see if the new MMA game plays as well. It certainly looks as well or even better than its UFC counterpart but it is going to need to play well if it is going to sell anywhere near what UFC 2009 Undisputed did. Another hurdle that MMA is going to have to overcome is that fact that they haven’t signed many of the really big fighters. People want to play as fighters they know but ever since Dana White threatened to ban any fighter that signed on with EA, I don’t see how they are going to pull in that many fighters willing to go against the UFC.
EA Sports MMA will be released for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 sometime next year. Check out the teaser trailer after the break.
