Blizzard dealt a blow to Diablo 3 fans by announcing the release date is going to be delayed.
Some lucky Diablo 3 fans are in closed public beta test heaven right now. The guaranteed blockbuster has been in development for 10 years now and it was looking good that it would hit its end of year release date. Blizzard dashed those hopes by announcing the release date was pushed out to early 2012. If you were shocked by the announcement, then apparently you’ve never heard of Blizzard Entertainment and have been living under a rock for the last 20 years. Blizzard releases games when they are ready and Diablo 3 is no exception.
To help with the sting of waiting a little longer, Blizzard is extending the closed public beta test for unspecified amount of time. This will also allow them to invite more people into the beta which should make some people really happy.
Diablo 3 is now going to be released in early 2012 for PC and Mac OS X.
