Counter-Strike: Global Offensive First Gameplay Trailer

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive First Gameplay TrailerValve has followed up with their recent announcement of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with the first gameplay footage.

There is no denying that Counter-Strike is at the top of all-time best FPS’s and that its fan base has an undying devotion like few other games have ever enjoyed. Valve is looking to give that fan base an updated game they will love while bringing it a new generation of gamers that weren’t around in its heyday.  The CS: GO announcement earlier this month was met with quite a bit of excitement and now we get to see the first gameplay footage from the game.

The trailer does a nice job of showing the progression of Counter-Strike through the original release in 2000, to 2004′s release of Counter-Strike: Source, and then finally giving us what we have been dying to see, the first glimpse of the updated graphics and gameplay of CS: GO. We get flashes of some of our old favorite maps like Aztec and Italy which look awesome. Valve promises new maps, weapons, ranked match-making, and game modes to add to the classic maps and modes we want to jump into again. Valve also promises cross-platform play, but we know now that only applies to the PC, PlayStation 3, and the Mac versions while excluding the Xbox 360 release.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is going to be released in early 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, and the Mac. Check out the debut trailer below.
