The surprise hit of 2009 is finally getting a sequel now that Borderlands 2 is officially announced.
Gearbox Software came out with the first Borderlands in 2009 and it received great reviews and sold extremely well. It was a surprise hit for 2k Games so a sequel seemed inevitable at some point. Well that point is now since we now know Borderlands 2 is officially being developed.
Originally leaked by Eurogamer, the sequel will officially be revealed in the September issue of Game Informer magazine. Not much is known at this point except that it will be coming sometime in 2012 and it could be coming as soon as next Spring. It will again take place in Pandora and it will feature a ton of new weapons, smarter enemies, new environments, and improved story which some people complained about the original game. More details and screenshots of Borderlands 2 will be revealed soon.
No official release date has been announced, but Borderlands 2 is going to be released sometime in 2012 and I’m sure we can expect to see it on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC again.
