Rumors are floating around that the recently announced Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 will feature the Boy Wonder himself.
Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 was recently announced at Spike's VGAs but little details have been released since. PlayStation University is reporting that a recent entry on IMDB may reveal that Batman will have Robin fighting alongside him. The IMDB entry lists Vincent Martella as making an appearance as the Boy Wonder. Before you recoil in horror, this might be a good thing. Most people will instantly remember the horrible Batman & Robin movie and assume the awesome new video game franchise will be ruined just like the movie franchise before Christopher Nolan resurrected it. The optimistic people out there believe this might imply the sequel will include co-op play which would be pretty cool. I'm leaning towards trusting that Rocksteady knows what they are doing and that the next game will meet or beat the expectations the original game has set. We will have to wait and see until an official announcement has been made. On a side note, IMDB is also listing Bruce Greenwood as the voice of Two-Face.
Batman: Arkham Asylum 2 hasn't received an official release date yet. It will probably be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.
Sony has officially named their upcoming PlayStation 3 motion controller and gives more details on its upcoming release.
During their press conference at the Game Developer's Conference today, Sony officially names their motion controller. The name you have all been waiting to hear is not the Arc or the Gem but the PlayStation Move. It features the same glowing orb on top that was shown off during it's unveil at last year's E3 and it does in fact change colors. It will come in 3 packages, a stand-alone controller for people that already own the PlayStation Eye, a starter kit that includes the controller, PlayStation Eye, and a game. The last option will be the ultimate package that will come with a PS3, DualShock 3, PlayStation Move controller, and an eye.
Several games were also announced that will take advantage of the new motion controller. Sports Champions is mini-game package that is a lot like Wii Sports. A few of the games it will feature is archery, a gladiator duel game, and table tennis. Move Party will include all kinds of mini-games that will include you in the gameplay and change the look of the controller to match the game. The Shoot is an on-rails shooter that will take you through many different movie sets. Sony also announced that Little Big Planet and the recently announced SOCOM 4 will also take advantage of the new controller among others.
PlayStation Move will be released later this year and Sony has announced that the starter kit will be under $100. Check out the PlayStation Move trailer after the break.Read more...
Harmonix announced today that they will be releasing Rock Band 3 this holiday season and promises new innovations.
Everybody knew that eventually Rock Band 3 would be announced and today Harmonix announced the newest addition to the franchise on their Facebook page. Harmonix promises to bring new innovations to the musical genre and we hope they are right. The music game genre has grown a little stagnant and just seems to be the same thing over and over with a couple of new features, a new list of songs, and more plastic instruments to clutter up our houses. The original Rock Band changed everything when it was released back in 2007 and let's hope the new one will try and do the same. Dhani Harrison, the son of George Harrison, announced during an interview with the Chicago Tribune via Kotaku that Rock Band 3 would teach you how to play music which sounds pretty interesting but I'm not sure if it sounds like much fun though.
No official release date has been given for Rock Band 3 other than a Holiday 2010 release window. The announcement doesn't mention which platforms we can expect to see it on either but I'm sure it will be released on everything.
Square Enix announced that a new Tomb Raider game entitled Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is under development and it will be a big departure from previous games.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be the next installment in the long-running series. Unlike previous games, the new Tomb Raider game will be played from an isometric viewpoint and will feature co-operative play. You will be able to take control of Lara Croft and also Tetoc who is a Mayan tribesman. Crystal Dynamics will again be in charge of the game's development and they are shooting for a Summer release window. Another big change for the series is that it will be a download only game. The gameplay will focus on arcade action and old school puzzle solving. The co-op mode will allow for drop in and drop out gameplay. I'm pretty excited to see the new direction they are taking the series and see if it plays as good as it looks.
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light will be released as a download only title this Summer 2010. Check out the screenshots in our gallery.
Valve officially announced Portal 2 today with what has to be one of the best game teases ever.
Portal 2 has got to be at the top of everybody's most wanted list and Valve has finally answered our pleas for a sequel. The original Portal was released back in 2007 and quickly became many people's Game of the Year. Fans of the game have been waiting patiently ever since and now there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Valve announced Portal 2 with one of the coolest game teases ever. The first step was to update the original game with radios that transmitted Morse code and new ending. Gamers than went to work in the content folders and found hidden messages in the wav files. These hidden messages translated into a phone number near Kirkland, Washington that was set up as a BBS. When people logged into the BBS they found ASCII art that may be the first screenshot from the game and also hints at possible co-operative play. Many sites are pointing towards GameStop's description of the game that also stated it would contain co-op but it was later removed.
Portal 2 will feature new and returning characters, new puzzles, and you will get to explore different areas of Aperture Science. It will obviously include a single player campaign and it may include a multiplayer co-op mode. It will be released this holiday season for Xbox 360 and the PC. Game Informer has revealed their April issue will feature Portal 2.
Sony has announced that SOCOM 4 is currently under development and GTTV releases the debut trailer.
Sony has announced that SOCOM 4 is being developed by Zipper Interactive, the people behind the popular PS3 exclusive MAG. SOCOM 4 will take place in South East Asia where you will battle against a revolutionary army looking to screw up the global economy. It will feature 32 player multiplayer action that will focus on teamwork like previous installments in the series. GTTV released the debut trailer for the game earlier tonight. It doesn't show any actual gameplay footage unfortunately but does set the table for the game's storyline. If the multiplayer action is anything like MAG's, it will be worth the price of admission alone.

Take-Two announced they will be delaying the release of Red Dead Redemption during a first quarter fiscal 2010 earnings report today.
Red Dead Redemption was originally going to be released on April 27th but fans eagerly waiting for its release got some bad news today. During an earnings report, Take-Two's chairman Strauss Zelnick announced they will be pushing back the game's release to May 18th. He stated that it was to extend the time they would need for marketing the game before its release. Like a lot of you I was sad to hear we would have to wait longer to play it but at least it was only pushed out a few weeks and not months like other recent games like Max Payne 3.
Red Dead Redemption will be released on May 18th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Activision has announced that a new installment in the Call of Duty franchise is currently being developed and will be available sometime in 2011.
Before you get too excited about the new Call of Duty announcement, I must mention that it will not be a new FPS. Development is being handed off to Sledgehammer Games, a brand new studio created by Glen Schofield and Michael Condrey. They both previously worked at Visceral Games, the studio that created Dead Space. Instead of going the obvious route of creating another FPS, they have elected to make an action adventure game. We can expect to see the new game sometime in 2011.
Completely overshadowing the new game announcement, rumors have surfaced and then were confirmed that two top people from Infinity Ward were fired today. Infinity Ward, the developers behind the insanely popular Modern Warfare 2, is apparently without their President and CEO. Jason West and Vince Zampella were both removed from their positions for rumored breach of contract and insubordination. Several sources are suggesting that Infinity Ward was looking to create a new IP and that they were shopping this to publishing rivals of Activision. These are all just rumors at this point but sources have stated that some bouncer types showed up at the Infinity Ward offices and that West and Zampella were nowhere to be found after a meeting with Activision. Stay tuned to hear more as the Infinity Ward/Activision soap opera continues.
Gearbox Software has announced that Borderlands will be releasing a retail package that will include the first two DLC packages by themselves.
Borderlands was a huge surprise hit for Gearbox Software and they have followed that release up with some really cool DLC. Today they announced that a retail bundle will be making its way to store shelves. It will include The Zombie Island of Doctor Ned and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot. It will not include the newest DLC, The Secret Armory of General Knoxx however. GameStop has the Xbox 360 and PC versions being shipped on April 1st. No announcement on whether we can expect to see a PlayStation 3 release or not. The retail package will run you $19.99 which is what it would cost you to buy them off of Xbox LIVE right now.
Borderlands' first three DLC packages are available now on Xbox LIVE and PSN.
