The Black Mesa mod team has released their first trailer for their upcoming total conversion of the Source engine. The mod is a fan driven "re-creation" of the original Half-Life game set to be released soon.

For all of us that were disappointed with Valve's Source release of the original Half-Life, this is going to be the game we all wished for. The game will feature all of the characters and environments we remember. The mod will feature both a single player campaign and multiplayer deathmatch mode, but most people are excited about the planned co-operative mode. The co-op mode will let players run through the corridors of Black Mesa together to finish up the single player campaign.

The original Half-Life celebrated its 10th birthday on November 19th. Now over 10 years later, fans of the original game are hoping this mod will help us relive all of those memorable moments that helped change the way first person shooters were played. This mod will also hopefully bring in new players that never got a chance to play this ground-breaking game.

The mod will require any Source engine game to play. Check out the trailer after the break.
