Assassin’s Creed 3 Possibly Coming This Year

Assassin's Creed 3 Possibly Coming This YearUbisoft announced in a recent press release that a new episode of Assassin’s Creed will be released in the next fiscal year.

Assassin’s Creed 2 has sold over 6 million copies already so it wasn’t a surprise that Ubisoft would be working on the third installment to the best-selling franchise but we didn’t expect that it might come out so soon. Assassin’s Creed 2 has been out for less than two months and we already have two ACII DLC episodes announced and we now know a third game could be released as soon as this year. Ubisoft revealed that a new game is in development and it will be released in the 2010-2011 fiscal year. This spans from April 2010 to March 2011. Most people believe that Assassin’s Creed 3 could be coming out as soon as this holiday season and we really can’t argue with that. Who wouldn’t want another game so soon? CVG has confirmed with Ubisoft that the AC3 is being developed by the same studio as the second game and it will star Ezio again.

If that announcement wasn’t enough, Ubisoft also dropped the bomb that the next game in the series will include an online multiplayer mode. Any guesses on what that might be? Gondola Races? Synchronized Hay Diving? Give us your guesses in the comments section below.
