Nintendo has announced that it will be revealing the Nintendo 3DS' price and release date at the end of September.
Nintendo blew everybody away when it unveiled the 3DS at E3 this year. They also announced they would be bringing a metric ton of blockbuster franchises to the forthcoming handheld including Kid Icarus Uprising, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D, Mario Kart 3DS, and Star Fox 64 3D. The only thing missing from the huge unveil was a release date and a price.
Nintendo is looking to right that last little bit soon. Bloomberg Japan via GameIndustry.biz is reporting that Nintendo is going to reveal the 3DS release date and price on September 29th. Nintendo's President Reggie Fils-Aime, originally stated on Jimmy Fallon that it will be released next year. That reveal was then announced to be a mistake so now we really have no idea of when it will hit store shelves. At least now people have a solid date when they will actually find out how long before they get their hands on the 3DS.
Halo: Reach is one of the most anticipated games of the year and the new trailer only adds to the excitement.
Halo: Reach's multiplayer mode has been shown off quite a bit since the highly anticipated prequel was announced by Bungie. Now we are finally getting more gameplay footage from the single player campaign and it looks amazing.
Halo: Reach will act as a prequel to the previous best-selling Halo franchise installments. The last game from famed developer Bungie will follow the events as humanity tries to fight off an alien invasion on Reach. As you can see from the new trailer, Bungie is looking to bring some huge epic battles to the Halo franchise. This is highlighted perfectly with one shot where you see tons of Warthogs racing into battle. These battles will also be carried over into the new space combat that is being added. The new Halo: Reach trailer gives you some awesome shots where the screen is filled with dog-fighting spaceships. I don't think anybody needed more reasons to want this game, but watch the trailer anyway and start counting the days until September.
Halo: Reach is going to be released exclusively for Xbox 360 on September 14th. Check out the new trailer after the break.Read more...

Ubisoft treated everybody to some Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood multiplayer footage at this year's San Diego Comic-Con.
Ubisoft surprised everybody with the announcement of Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood earlier this year for two reasons. The first reason was because it was surprising they would announce a follow-up to the smash hit Assassin's Creed 2 so soon. The second was the bombshell that it would include multiplayer for the first time in the franchise.
This week at the San Diego Comic-Con Ubisoft wowed everybody with some multiplayer footage. In the new trailer we get to see one of the game modes called "Wanted". In this game mode one player is marked for death and another player is assigned that contract to fulfill. The catch is they must use stealth or else it will degrade down into a foot chase. Klei Entertainment and EA have released a new gameplay video for Shank that shows off the game's co-op play.
Shank is one of the games that just make you smile when you watch it. With its over-the-top action and awesome visual art style, this 2D scroller should be a huge hit when it comes out. The newest gameplay video to be released shows off Shank's co-op play and it looks really cool. It takes me back to the hours and hours spent playing through Contra with a friend. Let's hope it is able to capture that same feeling and if the videos are any indication it has and then some.
Shank is making its way to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and the PC. It is going to be released on PSN on August 24th and it will be arrive on XBLA the following day. No release date has been given for the PC version yet. Check out the new gameplay video after the break.Read more...
Netflix might soon be dropping the required disc that allows you to stream movies onto the PlayStation 3.
PlayStation 3 owners were delighted when Netflix announced they would be offering its subscribers the option of streaming movies onto their console, after they had to look on while Xbox 360 owners were enjoying the service for a long time. The excitement was a little dampened when it was announced it would require a disc instead of the cool dashboard integration that the Xbox 360 had. No timeline was set when this requirement would end but maybe people believed it would be through 2010.
That time may finally be coming to end for PS3 owners. It was announced during an earnings call today that before their next call in October, the PlayStation 3 would receive a major update that would include Netflix integration. This is great news for the service and for anybody that is a fan of the push towards streaming media. They also announced they would be adding a ton more streaming TV options as well.
Microsoft has finally officially announced the final price of Kinect and it's no surprise to anyone.
Kinect was officially named back at E3 this year but a final price was nowhere to be seen. Many outlets and sites including Microsoft's own site set the price at $150 but Microsoft denied that the price was official. Today they finally stopped dragging their feet and confirmed that Kinect will in fact cost you $149.99. It will include Kinect Adventures along with the motion control camera. Microsoft believes that this was the best approach for their new peripheral. I agree that Kinect should include a launch game. It worked for the Wii, so we will have to wait and see if this was a smart move or not.
Along with the price announcement, Microsoft has revealed a new SKU that will include 4GB of internal memory, built in Wi-Fi, and a black matte finish. It will look like the recently announced Xbox 360 Slim but will lose the sexy black gloss. It will be available August 3rd for $199.99 and will also come in a bundle with Kinect and Kinect Adventures this holiday for $299.99. The stand-alone Microsoft Kinect is going to be released on November 4th.
