A leaked video that is rumored to be someone playing Half-Life 2 with Microsoft's Project Natal has hit the Internet and it looks pretty cool.
We are taking this leaked video as complete rumor at this point until we hear differently but I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited about it. I'm sure most people were kind of excited when they first saw the Project Natal footage at this year's E3, but like us, they wanted to see how it would work with "real" games. Now with this possible leaked footage of someone playing Half-Life 2 we might have just gotten a taste of the possible gameplay options this might open up.
The leaked Half-Life 2 video is pretty blurry but you can clearly tell the guy is controlling the on-screen action with his arm movements. It does look a little like he is trying to conduct an orchestra but it seems to be moving pretty smoothly. It looks like it might be a little tough to control but we will just have to wait and see. I doubt this footage will ever be confirmed as real so hopefully Microsoft will release some new official footage soon. Check out the leaked HL2 footage after the break.Read more...
Valve has announced the first DLC pack for Left 4 Dead 2 and it will be hitting Steam and Xbox LIVE early next spring.
Left 4 Dead 2 has silenced many critics when it was released in the middle of November. Many people raised some concern when Valve announced a quick (quicker than their usual schedule anyway) follow-up to their best selling zombie game L4D1, but there hasn't been much criticism once people actually got their hands on it.
Now Valve has announced the first DLC pack for L4D2 and it is called "The Passing". It will take place after the Dead Center campaign and will involve the L4D2 cast meeting up with the L4D1 characters. In addition to the new co-op campaign, the DLC will include new arenas for the Survival, Scavenge, and Versus modes. We will also get our hands on a new melee weapon and a new firearm. A new "uncommon common" zombie class will also be added to the game.
"The Passing" will hopefully be available in early spring for Xbox 360 and the PC. Left 4 Dead 2 is available now for both platforms.
Ubisoft has announced more details and pricing for the upcoming Assassin's Creed 2 DLC packs.
Ubisoft recently announced that Assassin's Creed 2 will be receiving two DLC packs that will add more content to the best selling game. Not much was known when the DLC packs were first announced, but we now have some more details and a price.
The first pack will be released in late January and will be called the "Battle of Forli". It will be priced at $3.99 and will take up a full gig of your hard drive. In the new Assassin's Creed 2 episode you will defend Forli against the Orsi brothers and you will the use the help of Caterina Sforza and Machiavelli. It will include six new memories and will be the missing 12th sequence.
The second pack will be released in late February and will be called the "Bonfire of the Vanities". This DLC pack will cost you $4.99 and take up the same amount of hard drive space. In the second episode, we get to explore more areas of Florence while following historical events based around the monk Savonarola. This second DLC will be the missing 13th sequence and will give you ten new missions while also adding a new spring jump.
Assassin's Creed 2 is available now for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.
Epic Games has announced that they have ported their Unreal Engine 3 technology to the iPhone 3GS and third-gen iPod Touch.
The Unreal Engine 3 is the technology behind such games as Gears of War 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum and now it is coming to the iPhone 3GS and third-gen iPod Touch. AnandTech interviewed Epic's Vice-President, Mark Rein and he made the announcement. He also said that they are planning on bringing the engine to unannounced mobile platform but that won't be announced until CES 2010. The most obvious guess would be that UE3 could be coming to the Zune HD. We will just have to wait until next month to hear the official word.
Along with the announcement, Epic has released a very short demo video of UE3 playing on an iPod Touch. The demo is a level that was modified from Unreal Tournament and it looks pretty amazing. The controls are setup so you move by touching the bottom left corner of the screen and you shoot by touching the bottom right. You can then look around by swiping your finger across the screen. We will have to wait to see how well it plays but the interviewer said that the frame rate was smooth. Epic Games is looking to license out the technology to other developers. I'm excited to see what kind of games will come out of this. Could we see a Gears of War game on the iPhone? Check out the short demo video after the break.Read more...
Avalanche Studios and Eidos have released yet another trailer for Just Cause 2 but this one actually gives us a little more info on the game's story.
There have been several Just Cause 2 trailers released so far, but this one gives more details on the game's story. It also gives us more of the cool explosions and gameplay options that you are really looking forward to. In Just Cause 2 you will again take on the role of Rico Rodriguez and this time you will be running around the fictional island of Panau which is in Southeast Asia. Your main objective is to take out a dictator named Baby Panay and your old boss. The biggest selling point of the game though is the beautiful island and all the things you can do on it. The island is just one huge sandbox for you to run around in and cause mayhem and destruction. The possibilities for fun are endless and I can't wait to see the crazy videos that will pop up after the game's release showing of what people come up with.
Just Cause 2 is going to be released on March 26th 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC. Take a look at the new trailer after the break.Read more...
EA Los Angeles has released a first look trailer at the newly announced Medal of Honor game that is the next installment in the long running franchise.
The new Medal of Honor game was announced earlier this month by EA and is being touted as a modern day reboot of the series. A first look trailer was shown at the recent Video Game Awards and gave us a quick look at the new game. My first thought when I saw the new trailer was that it looked a lot like Modern Warfare 2. I definitely didn't think this was a bad thing considering how well Modern Warfare 2 is selling. For anybody that doesn't remember, the Medal of Honor franchise was the game to beat until Infinity Ward came along and took over the top spot. Now the Medal of Honor series has a chance to pay back the favor when it is released next year. From the looks of the new looking trailer, they certainly look like they are bringing their A game and competition is always a good thing. The trailer looks awesome and I'm excited to see more footage from this game in the next couple of months.
The new Medal of Honor game will be released in Fall 2010 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC. Check out the first look trailer after the jump.Read more...
Square Enix officially announced Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days last month after releasing a couple of weird teaser trailers. Now we get the first official debut trailer from the sequel.
The original Kane & Lynch hit quite a few potholes when it was released but it still offered some alright co-op fun for the people that tried it out. Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days is looking to add more of the same while hoping to win over the many critics that would rather not see a sequel. Square Enix released some weird teaser trailers last month to hint at the game's development. The first one showed Kane & Lynch running through a Chinese restaurant naked and being chased by an attack dog. The second one had Lynch bashing in a door with a bowling ball. The first official trailer doesn't have any actual gameplay unfortunately, but it does show off a bloody gun battle that the two are involved in. I'm looking forward to seeing how the game looks and whether it plays any better than the first one. Hopefully we get some more info on the upcoming game soon.
No release date other than 2010 has been announced for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days but it will coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC.Read more...
UFC Undisputed 2010, the sequel to this year's best fighting game in our opinion, has received a debut trailer that gives us a quick look at the game.
THQ announced that they would be releasing yearly updates to their new UFC franchise and we know get to see the first gameplay video from the upcoming sequel. UFC Undisputed 2010 looks to offer the same great gameplay as the original and also offer some obvious visual upgrades. The debut trailer shows off some legends from the sport that will obviously be included in the game. A new addition to the roster will be Kimbo Slice, an Internet fighting sensation that is trying to break into the Ultimate Fighting Championship right now. Most of the talk about the trailer is whether Kimbo should be considered a real MMA fighter but there is no doubt that his big name will pull in a good amount of publicity for the franchise. It remains to be seen whether EA's competing product MMA, will be able to stand toe-to-toe with the UFC but we can't wait to play both next year.
UFC Undisputed 2010 will be released on May 25th for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Check out the debut trailer after the break.Read more...

The debut gameplay trailer for Halo: Reach was unveiled during the recent VGAs and it gave us some insight in what we can expect from the upcoming game.
Halo: Reach was another huge get for Spike when they got to unveil the debut gameplay trailer at their recent Video Game Awards. The trailer was the first chance we got to see some in-game footage from Halo: Reach it looks smokin' hot. Bungie has confirmed that it is in fact all in-game footage contrary to people's disbelief. The trailer shows us different flavors kinds of Spartans we expect to see in the prequel. There is a comment made during the trailer that might give us some insight into the path that this Halo prequel will be going. One of the Spartans makes comment about "leaving that lone wolf stuff behind". Many people believe that this means we can expect the game to be heavily focused on team-based gameplay rather than the usual single player campaign. We will just have to wait until they decide to release more info.
No release date has been announced yet for Halo: Reach but we have been given a Fall 2010 window for Xbox 360. Check out the debut gameplay trailer after the break.Read more...
