Angry Birds Coming to Facebook

Angry Birds Coming to FacebookRovio has confirmed they will be bringing their addictive revenge game Angry Birds to one of the few platforms it has yet to conquer, Facebook.

Angry Birds has had unprecedented success on every platform it has been released on. Rovio hopes to continue their domination by bringing the highly addictive game to one of the biggest platforms out there, Facebook.

Originally released for the iPhone back in December 2009, Angry Birds has since been released on several platforms. These included the iPad, Android based phones, as well as PlayStation 3 and PSP. In addition to this Facebook release, it will be making its way to the Nintendo 3DS and Wii later this year.

Few details are given whether this will be a direct port or something completely different. Mikael Hed from Rovio has been quoted as saying in the Facebook version “There will be completely new aspects to it that just haven’t been experienced on any other platform…. The pigs will have a more prominent role.” It would be pretty cool if this meant we would get to see the pig’s point of view of the whole situation and possibly change our whole opinion of the war between them.

Angry Birds is going to be released on Facebook in April 2011 and on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii later on this year.
