Valve was at the recent E3 event showing off Portal 2, their highly anticipated first person puzzler and now they have graciously released the demo videos for you to drool over.
Portal 2 was officially announced back in March but no gameplay footage had been released so far. E3 changed all that when Valve demoed their new game to rave reviews. As promised, Valve has released the demo videos for everybody that didn’t see them before and broke them up into 7 convenient pieces. Portal 2′s release date has been pushed back to 2011 but we do know it will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Mac, and the PC. Check out the 7 demo videos after the break.
The first Portal 2 demo video introduces us to Wheatley, a personality core that will help guide you through the beginning of the game.
The second video highlights the Excursion Tunnel that will act as a tractor beam that will allow you and other objects to reach other areas on the map. It is an awesome new addition that will completely change the gameplay.
The third video demonstrates the new Aerial Faith Plates that act as trampolines to help you move throughout the different levels.
The Thermal Discouragement Beam is the star of the fourth video and shows that it can be used as a weapon against your enemies if it is pointed towards them.
The fifth Portal 2 demo video is all about the Pneumatic Diversity Vent. It works like the vent tube at your local bank and will suck up your enemies and shoot them off to other areas.
The Repulsion Gel is shown off in the sixth video. It will also work as a trampoline and it will allow you to send it through the portal to reach areas on the map that you couldn’t get to before.
The last demo video is focused on the Propulsion Gel that will give you a speed boost to get past certain areas.
