LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars Announced

The Clone Wars AnnouncedLucasArts and Traveller's Tales announced the development of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars today.

The original LEGO Star Wars was released way back in 2005 and was a huge hit that spawned a sequel and several other games based on other movie franchises. LucasArts announced today that Traveller's Tales is working on a new installment in the franchise that I'm sure will be a big hit as well. The same team that worked on the original Star Wars games and the Indiana Jones franchise will be working on the new game. The 3rd game (4th overall) in the series will based on the animated series, The Clone Wars, and will include characters from both seasons. We can expect to play some new battle modes and an upgraded level builder in the new game. We will have the option to play as a Jedi or a Separatist with a bunch of new abilities.

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, DS, PC, and the PSP this Fall 2010.

LA Noire Details Revealed

L.A. Noire Details RevealedRockstar Games has finally revealed more details on their long in-development L.A. Noire in the upcoming March issue of Game Informer magazine.

L.A. Noire was announced way back in 2006 and then went back into hiding apparently. It was originally expected to be a PlayStation 3 exclusive and Brendan McNamara, Team Bondi's President, even stated that the game was being completely funded by SCEA. Now in the next issue of Game Informer magazine it is going to be announced that L.A. Noire is now going to be released on the Xbox 360 too. PlayStation 3 owners must be bummed just for the fact that they can't throw that in Xbox 360 owner's faces but I'm sure they are still glad the game is coming out. It was also revealed that L.A. Noire facial animation system might change the way we look at games. Another big detail about the game that has been rumored at is that missions will be built from real-life murders that took place in L.A. back in 1947.

No official release date has been announced for L.A. Noire but Geoff Keighly revealed on his Twitter account that it will be released in September for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

New Nintendo Hardware Announcement At GDC?

Rumored Nintendo Hardware Announcement GDC 2010There have been numerous rumors floating around that Nintendo may possibly have a new hardware announcement at this year's GDC 2010.

Nintendo has been tight lipped about any new hardware announcements but many people believe it could possibly be the rumored Nintendo Wii HD. Nintendo has denied all rumors up to this point but now VideoGamer.com has a rumor on their site that quotes an unnamed developer. Their source apparently knows other developers that are already working on the new platform and that it might be announced at this year's Game Developers Conference.

We will definitely keep this one in our rumor pile until we get official confirmation but there have been too many rumors floating around to just dismiss it. No word on whether it could be a new handheld or home console. It would seem odd if it was a new handheld after the fairly recent announcement of the Nintendo DSi XL. We will keep our eye out for any new information but we might get an announcement as soon as early next month.

Fallout: New Vegas Debut Teaser Trailer Released

New Vegas Debut Teaser Trailer ReleasedThe debut teaser trailer for Fallout: New Vegas was released by Obsidian Entertainment today.

Not much is known about Fallout: New Vegas at this point. The teaser trailer doesn't give us much information either. It just shows a robot digging at some dirt in a graveyard that overlooks Vegas while a mysterious man watches from above. Bethesda, the makers of Fallout 3, said that it is another story in the Fallout Universe and is not a sequel to their game. The reins were handed off to Obsidian Entertainment, best known for making Knights of the Old Republic 2 and Alpha Protocol an upcoming action RPG, who I'm sure were more than willing to jump at the chance.

Fallout: New Vegas was announced last year and is shooting for a Fall 2010 release. It will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC. Check out the teaser trailer after the break.Read more...

BioShock 2 Launch Trailer Released

BioShock 2 Launch Trailer ReleasedOur long awaited return to Rapture is almost here and I couldn't be more excited. At least that is what I thought before I saw the awesome BioShock 2 launch trailer 2K Games debuted on Jimmy Fallon's late night show last night.

The new BioShock 2 trailer is too cool. We get to see the Big Daddy whooping ass on some Splicers that are bugging your Little Sister. We also get a good luck at the new Brute Splicer that is able to pick up objects, like huge chunks of concrete, and toss them at us ala the Tank from Left 4 Dead. They look to be one of the bigger challenges in the new game. Another big challenge in BioShock 2 is the new Big Sister that makes an impressive entrance in the new trailer. If you weren't excited about the sequel before now, try to hide it after you watch this.

BioShock 2 is going to be released next week on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and the PC on February 9th. Check out the launch trailer after the jump.Read more...

Of course Traveller's Tales also adds their own humor and flare to make it feel like their previous Lego games.

Heavy Rain Mall Gameplay Video Released

Heavy Rain Mall Gameplay Video ReleasedA new gameplay video for the PlayStation 3 exclusive Heavy Rain has been released that shows off a three minutes of gameplay footage in a mall.

Heavy Rain will finally be here at the end of the month so we can expect to see more footage being released over the next couple of weeks. GameTrailers received an exclusive gameplay video that shows us some footage from the mall level at the beginning of the game. In the new video we get to see the game's interface that gives you gameplay options when they become available. During the video, we see Ethan Mars and his family at the mall when his son Jason wanders off. Quantic Dream has described Heavy Rain as an interactive movie and the new video really highlights that concept. When a gameplay option is available, an indicator pops for a possible action like calling out for your son or paying for a balloon. It looks pretty cool and I can't to get my hands on the final game.

Heavy Rain is going to be released on February 23rd exclusively for the PlayStation 3. Check out the gameplay video after the break and be aware it is a little NSFW for some language.Read more...

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City Announced For PlayStation 3 And PC

Episodes From Liberty City Announced PlayStation 3 PCRockstar Games has finally given the other GTA IV fans some love and officially announced that Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City will be coming to the PlayStation 3 and the PC.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City was originally exclusive to Xbox 360 due to the DLC deal made between Microsoft and Rockstar before GTA IV was released. The retail disc includes both DLC episodes, The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony which were originally only available to Xbox 360 owners. PlayStation 3 and PC owners will now be able to play these very well-received episodes themselves and not have to act like they weren't bothered by the original announcement. Many people believed that the episodes would eventually make their way to other consoles once the exclusive deal expired or that maybe they would receive their own. In addition to the retail release, PS3 owners will be able to download the individual episodes on PSN.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City and the individual episodes will be released for PlayStation 3 and the PC on March 30th.

New Heavy Rain Trailer Released

New Heavy Rain Trailer ReleasedWe are inching closer to the release of Heavy Rain and Quantic Dream has released a new trailer to keep us occupied for now.

Heavy Rain has been created to invoke emotions in the player and this trailer really helps highlight that point. The trailer was completely built with in-game footage and it looks amazing. The new Heavy Rain trailer asks how far will you go to catch a killer and save your loved ones. That question couldn't be illustrated better than in the opening sequence of the trailer. One of the playable characters from the game, Ethan Mars, is faced with a really tough decision to save his son that is straight out of a Saw movie.

Along with the new trailer, Quantic Dream has announced that Heavy Rain has gone gold and will be shipping out to retailers soon. Sony followed up that announcement with a release date for the game's demo. The Heavy Rain demo will be hitting PSN on Thursday, February 11th. It will include two chapters from the game and will allow you to play as Norman Jayden, the FBI profiler, and Scott Shelby, the private detective.

Heavy Rain is going to be released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 on February 23rd. Check out the new trailer after the break.Read more...

Apple Officially Announces The iPad Tablet

Apple Announces The iPad Tablet ComputerApple hosted a huge press conference today to announce their newest gadget, the iPad, a super-sized version of the iPhone.

Rumors and speculation have been flying around for months now about whether or not Apple would release a tablet computer and today it finally became official. The iPad has a 10 inch widescreen multi-touch display and will be compatible with all current and future apps in the App store. The screen will support a resolution of 1024 X 768 pixels. The base model will be a 16GB Wi-Fi only tablet for $499 and there will be 32GB and 64GB models going for $599 and $699 respectively. You can add 3G to any model for $130 plus a monthly fee from AT&T to use it. Apple released a SDK today that will allow developers to create specific apps for the new iPad as well as adapt their current ones to take advantage of the new real estate.

So what does the new tablet mean to gaming? Apple brought out EA during their presentation to show off Need for Speed: Shift running on the new tablet. You control the car by turning the tablet like a steering wheel and you can tap the screen to change the camera to an in-car view. From this view you can shift the car by sliding over the gear shift and look behind you by tapping the mirror. We have no doubt that the iPad will affect gaming in some way much like the iPhone but to what degree we're not sure yet. I'm excited whenever someone creates another avenue for people to enjoy games on and I can't wait to see what developers come up with.

The Apple iPad 16GB Wi-Fi only model will be available in March with the other models following along in April.
